AUDITOR
The premiere took place on April 26, 2019
Samara Square Theater \ Samara
The anecdotal plot of this play is known to everyone: by chance, a young official who lost at cards, who is mistaken for an auditor, ends up in a small provincial town.
The spatial solution of the artist Nikolai Slobodyanik is a large orchestra pit, in which, in graphic, almost “opera” mise-en-scenes, a long-played team of city N officials led by a conductor lives.
The language of the performance is graphic minimalism. In the subtle game of deceit that takes place in the mayor's house, every glance, every barely noticeable gesture, every movement is important. The St. Petersburg actor and choreographer Nikolai Kuglyant acts as a plastic specialist in the production. In the total scene of lies, two worlds will collide: the world of the little Gogol man and the capital's cynic Ivan Aleksandrovich Khlestakov. The electronic sound of Gabria's constant co-author, composer Vladislav Krylov, will create a special atmosphere of a cheating party, in which the audience will have an unexpected ending for Gogol's play.
The production team sees its main task in finding the spirit of today in Gogol's classic text. It is believed that the world around does not change
and the Nicholas era differs little from today's realities, but at the same time somehow transforms the face of the protagonist.
