ONEGIN
The premiere took place on September 29, 2018
Theater Comedian Shelter \ St. Petersburg
Performance "Onegin. Dreams of Tatyana is an exciting story about the main love catastrophe of Russian literature and the fate of its first victim. For 2.5 hours, the scene of the "Comedian's Shelter" turns into a space of dreams and fantasies of Tatyana Larina - the real main character of Pushkin's novel.
The shocks of an awkward teenage girl: from the first attraction to a man and his harsh refusal to the treacherous murder of a friend and flight, are mixed with an unquenchable thirst for revenge, with which Tatyana Larina, who has already matured, lives.
The space of sleep, invented by director Roman Gabria, does not obey the logic of time - scenes from the novel are re-edited. There are no restrictions for feelings: love, pain, desire, fear - everything is twisted to the maximum. In a dream, the appearance of fantastic new heroes is possible: Tatyana is accompanied by a guardian angel - it seems, the young Pushkin himself; and from Onegin not a single step departs the Spleen - either a materialized vice, or death itself.
The performance of BDT actress Alexandra Magelatova as Tatyana Larina is called by critics "virtuosic" and "exciting". The director managed to gather next to her a powerful young team of artists from the "Workshop", the Bolshoi Theater and the Theater. Lensoviet.
